Kelpie Cottage It is all just as comfortable as previous reports show. I could add that it is set, at least in deep winter, in a wild place, in which gales and rain are as magnificent as tall cliffs and sunsets over the Western Isles. If there was ice on the road, you might find it difficult to get out, but that is very rare on Skye. All of Skye is of course within easy reach but there is no need to go anywhere. It is all here and Kelpie Cottage is good to come home to. Posted by Derek and Rebecca on 03 January 2012 Kelpie Cottage We have just returned from a brilliant 2 weeks in this idyllic part of UK. The accommodation was faultless - every comfort afforded - warm and comfortable. Also well-stocked with those unforeseen items which, in such a remote location, can be such a godsend. Linda was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We have self-catered on a number of occasions but nothing has come up to this standard. Simply every item was available and as we catered for ourselves most of the time it was bliss to work in such a well-equipped kitchen. To say nothing of the location which is gorgeous. Thank you so very much for giving us such a memorable holiday. Posted by Caroline Hunt on 11 October 2011 Stayed in Kelpie Cottage Hi all, My partner and I, stayed in Kelpie Cottage from the 20th of September to the 24th of Sept. We are still kicking ourselves for not staying longer, we wish we had of taking 2 weeks holidays instead of one measly week!!! Where do I start :-D!! We arrived late on the first night and with the outside lights on the cottage it looked class even at night. We met Linda outside and after having the chat and listening to Linda's coolest ever accent, we both new we'd have a wonderful break there and then. The morning when we got up and looked outside was deadly, the most beautiful 360 degree stunning scenery was superb and to top it off two large Buzzards were high up in front of the Cottage. Were would ya get it. The Cottage has absolutely anything and everything you needed and it is lovely and warm and cozy. Hopefully coming back before Xmas. All in all, this was the best break away I ever had, Loved it and so will You for sure!! Slain Leat from Ireland, Brendan. Posted by Brendan Grant on 27 September 2011 Kelpie Cottage Definitely the cleanest, best equiped cottage we have had the pleasure to stay in. Linda, the owner, and her dogs, Cassie and Tess are so friendly and welcoming. If you want to, you can feel like one of the locals from the first day, as we did. This part of Skye is a really friendly place and if you like wildlife it's the place to be. We saw Golden and Sea Eagle, peregrines, minke whale, basking shark and lots more. Sunsets at Neist Point (and behind the cottage) are just wonderful. Already booked again for next year,in Spring to see the baby lambs. Ray and Gwen Truswell, Lancashire. Posted by Ray and Gwen Truswell on 22 August 2011 Kelpie Cottage Having just spent a very relaxing week in Kelpie Cottage we would fully endorse all the other guestbook feedback. Linda was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble to her. We had one day of rain but still walked to Neist Point and saw a couple of seals. Clear weather the rest of the week meant we saw some fantastic scenery. We walked for miles and enjoyed a few welcoming cream teas in various cafes but would recommend the Red Roof Cafe just a mile out of Glendale. Thank you Linda for showing me how to do felting and tunisian crochet. Truly a holiday we will never forget. Posted by John and Ella on 25 July 2011 | ![]() Lambing Dates |
